Ecological Waste Management and Recycling Project in Africa
(Pilot phase in Benin)
Education
Raise awareness and promote good practice in reducing, sorting (at source) and recycling waste as a resource, not a threat.
Training
Various training and technical support to stakeholders, including children, adolescents, youth, women and the disabled, as well as their green initiatives, start-ups or businesses.
Innovation
Co-creation of new and original green solutions with high sustainable impacts for a sustainable waste management and a circular economy creating decent green jobs in Africa.
Scientific contributions
Various scientific research, reliable information, development of tools and indicators for planning, prevention, sustainable management and monitoring of waste in Africa.
WE MAKE CHANGE!
This project takes into account all stakeholders and you are one of them. Whether you are a civil society actor, a private or public sector actor, a scientist, a learner, i.e. a young person, a girl, a woman, a student, a pupil or a schoolgirl, a disabled person…, you can fully participate in our activities on recycling and environmentally sound waste management. PReGED is the only multi-stakeholder framework that allows you to deepen your knowledge, build your capacity, benefit from a large network of committed environmental stakeholders and innovate in waste management.
Together, we contribute not only to train a new eco-responsible generation that is more aware of environmental emergencies but also contributes to the reduction of the negative environmental impact of cities per capita, including a focus on household and municipal waste management in Africa, particularly in Benin, Niger, and Sierra Leone where we begin this initative.
Reduction
"The waste we manage best is that which is not yet produced. "Instead of buying with our eyes, let's buy with our minds."
Prof. Bernard Capo-Chichi
SORTING & RECYCLING
Waste is an important resource that is not always well considered. Let's adopt good sorting practices for better recycling and reuse.
Circular economy
"Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed". Lavoisier. A large part of our waste can be recovered to ensure not only better food security, but also the meeting of our energy needs and a healthy living environment.
