This year, October 28-31, the 16th United Nations Youth Conference on Climate Change (COY16) will take place in Glasgow.
Coy16 is an official precursor of the COP for Youth and is officially endorsed by the President of COP26, the UNFCCC and the Office of the Envoy of the United Nations Secretary General for Youth. This is where the voices of young people from around the world are brought together and formalized as the official youth position for the Conference of the Parties. COY16 not only serves as a capacity building and policy training space to prepare young people for their participation in the COP, but also to connect and empower climate and environmental activists and organizations around the world.
In order to bring the common voice of African youth, AY4C will host, with the support of the Organizers, a session “African Youth4Climate: Together for Green Goals” at COY16.This major event will also be dedicated to the official launch of the largest federative organization for climate action on our continent “African Youth4Climate (AY4C)” with various opportunities for networking and collective action in favor of the climate.
